Consecration ceremony to be held on 22 nd January from 12.20 pm to 1 pm

The idol of Shriram Lalla to be installed in the temple on 18 th January

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) – In a press conference held at the temple building workshop here, Champat Rai, General Secretary of Shriram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust, gave a detailed information about the Shriram Lalla’s consecration ceremony. He informed that on 22 nd January, the consecration will be held from 12 pm to 1 pm. After this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, H.H. Sarsangchalak Dr Mohanji Bhagwat and Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, President of the trust, will deliver speeches. Mr Rai also said that the idol made by sculptor Arun Yogiraj will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum.

Information provided by Mr Champat Rai,

1. The auspicious time of consecration ceremony is decided by Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid, the great scholar of Kashi. Mahant Laxmikant Dixit of Varanasi will perform the rituals.

2. For preparations of the programme, taking darshan of Shriram Lalla will be temporarily prohibited on 20th and 21st January. Consecration rituals will start from 16th January and continue till 21st January. Before that the idol will be worshiped by Jal Vasa, Food Vasa, Shayya Vasa, Aushadhi Vasa and Phala Vasa. There will be 121 acharyas to perform all these pujas.

3. All kinds of musical instruments of the country will be played during the puja. It includes instruments such as flute, drum, tambora, tabour, shehnai, ravanahatta from Bihar.

4. The weight of the idol of Shriram Lalla to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum is 150 to 200 kg. A standing idol of Shriram Lala will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum on 18 th January.

5. The waters of all the major rivers of India have reached Ayodhya. Abhishek of these waters will be done on Shriram Lalla’s idol. Gifts have come from Shriram Lalla’s in-laws in Nepal and his maternal home in Chhattisgarh.

6. Prime Minister Modi, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Sarsangchalak Dr Mohanji Bhagwat and Nritya Gopal Das, President of Shriram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust, will be present at the sanctum sanctorum.

7. The invitees will include saints, religious leaders, top Police officers of the country, paramilitary officers, literary figures, Padma awardees etc. More than 100 engineers and employees of L&T and Tata who built the temple, representatives of Shaivite, Vaishnavite, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Kabir Panthi, ISKCON, Bharat Sevashram Sangh, Ramakrishna Mission, Gayatri Parivar, Radhaswamy, Swami Narayan of Gujarat, Lingayat etc. will also attend the programme.

8. On the evening of 22 nd January, citizens of the country should light at least 5 lamps in their homes.
