Mimicry is my fundamental right and I will do it a thousand times

Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Bannerjee’s insolence towards Vice-President Jagdeen Dhankhar continues

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhad and Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee

Kolkata (Bengal) – During agitation outside Parliament, Trinamool MP Kalyan Bannerji mimicked Rajya Sabha Speaker and Vice-President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar. Consequently, many MPs have been suspended. In this context, while speaking in a meeting in Kolkata, MP Kalyan Banerjee said, ‘I will continue to do mimicry. It is an art and if necessary, I will repeat it a thousand times. I have full right to express my opinion. You may punish me, but I will not back out. I will continue to fight.’

Bannerjee added, I do not wish to hurt anybody. A question remains, does he (Jagdeep Dhankhar) really behave like this in the Rajya Sabha ? Earlier even the Prime Minister had indulged in mimicry in the Parliament.

Editorial Perspective

Mimicry is entertainment for the artists performing on the stage; but an MP mimicking the Vice- President is nothing but hatred. The concerned must be punished for this horrendous act.
