Indo-US ties may weaken if India fails to investigate Pannun’s murder plot, Indian-American lawmakers claim

Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun

Washington DC (USA) – 5 US lawmakers of Indian descent have claimed that relations between India and the US may fall in jeopardy if India does not investigate the plot to kill Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. Ami Bera, Pramila Jayapal, Ro Khanna, Raja Krishnamoorthi and Shri Thanedar.

1.These lawmakers said in a joint statement that this is a very serious matter. India should ensure that this never happens again. It should not repeat such conspiracy on US soil and cooperate fully in the investigation.

2.The US Government had alleged that there was a plot to carry out a deadly attack on Pannun in New York. India was involved in this. This plot was foiled. American officials had raised this issue with India just after Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the US in June 2023. Following that, the Government of India has constituted a high-level committee to investigate the whole matter. Action will be taken based on the result of the investigation. Pannun is a citizen of Canada and the USA.

Editorial Perspective

US lawmakers of Indian origin should press their Govt to take action against anti-India Khalistani terrorist Pannun and extradite him to India. India should make this clear to these lawmakers who are giving unsolicited advice to India !
