59% drop in terror incidents in Kashmir; number of foreign tourists increased by 8 times

Srinagar (J&K) – In the last 5 years, there has been a 59% decline in jihadi terror incidents in Kashmir. As the local youths are staying away from terrorist organisations, the process of formation of new terrorists has slowed down. Due to this, the number of tourists has started increasing in Kashmir. Last year 4,100 foreign tourists visited Kashmir. However, 32,000 foreign tourists visited Kashmir till September this year. That means 8 times more foreign tourists visited Kashmir than last year. These tourists have come from the US, Canada, and some European countries. Interestingly, foreign tourists are visiting Kashmir although many countries have warned their citizens not to travel there. About 1.5 crore domestic tourists have visited Kashmir so far this year. Last year, 1.88 crore domestic tourists visited Kashmir. After the abrogation of Article 370 for Kashmir, there has also been a 77% drop in deaths from terror attacks in Kashmir in the last 4 years.

The jihadi mentality in Kashmir still prevails. As a result, the Hindus who were forced to flee are still unable to return there. We can say that the situation in Kashmir has changed only when Hindus would begin to live there as before !
