Hostel officials ordered an investigation after video went viral
Aligarh (UP) – A disturbing incident at Aligarh Muslim University in Uttar Pradesh has gained widespread attention as a video depicting violence against a Hindu student has gone viral on social media. The video captures students from the Muslim community brutally assaulting a Hindu student Akash inside Suleman Hostel. The viral video is allegedly a month old. One person identified as Zaid Mohammadi, mercilessly beat him with a belt. AMU student leader, Farhan Zubairi, can also be seen in the video. They not only physically assaulted the Hindu student but they also subjected him to the humiliation of having their shoes rubbed on his face. It is said that the victim and the accused are not students of the University. In the video, Akash is seen begging for forgiveness with folded hands.

Speaking about the incident, Farhan Zubairi said that when he came to know about the beating incident, he reached the hostel and rescued Akash from Zaid Mohammadi, and brought him out. Mohammadi is said to have beaten Akash out of anger over an old affair. The Police said that the victim Akash has not lodged any complaint against the accused. After the beating incident, Akash is missing from the city and his cell phone is switched off. Now that the video has gone viral, the hostel official has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
