Colombo (Sri Lanka) – Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe has convened an all-party meeting to discuss the issue of Tamil minority in the country. He has appealed all the parties to participate in this discussion and reach a consensus. President Wickremesinghe, who visited India a few days ago, discussed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi about improving relations with the Tamils residing in Sri Lanka.
While talking about this, Sri Lankan opposition leader Sajith Premadasa said, “we have not been informed of the agenda for this meeting but we will attend for the sake of the people. If this meeting proved to be a political gimmick instead of a genuine effort, we will walk out of this”. However, some political parties have refused to participate in this meeting.
