Naxalism has declined in the country : Acceptance by Naxals

Nagpur – For the first time, Naxals have accepted that Naxalism has fallen behind in the country. The Naxals have suggested to celebrate ‘Martyr memorial week’ from 28th July to 3rd August. In this regard, the Central Committee of Naxalites has circulated a 24-page document.

In this document, Naxals accepted that Naxal movement has suffered a setback because in last one year, 67 Naxal commanders have been killed in Police encounters or have died of other causes, including illness, in different parts of the country. In addition, guidance on coping with modern digital surveillance and intelligence of Police is also given in this.

The document further states,

1. Due to modern and latest ‘technical intelligence’, Police are able to either arrest or kill the Naxal commanders.

2. Naxals have been advised, “Naxal commanders should adopt old human intelligence strategy to counter Police’s modern technical intelligence.”

3. The Central Committee has also ordered the Naxal commanders to adopt the ‘guerrilla warfare technique’ given by Maoists many decades ago in view of increasing number of Police in the Naxal-affected areas and small number of Naxals.

4. In view of growing hold of Police, instructions have also been given to commanders to not stay in one place for too long, stay dispersed and keep moving.

Editorial Viewpoints

The possibility of Naxals again attacking the Police and soldiers using guerrilla tactics by pretending like this cannot be ruled out. Until Naxalism and Maoism are eradicated from this country, the Government and Police must remember that the country is under threat from Naxals.
