Anti-conversion law in Karnataka to be repealed

Decision of the Hindu-hating and Muslim, Christian-loving Congress Government

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – The Congress Government in Karnataka has decided to repeal the anti-conversion law passed by the previous BJP Government. A Bill in this regard will be introduced in the legislative session starting from 3rd July. This law was passed by the BJP Government in September 2022. The law has provisions for strict action against conversion by force, allurement, misuse of power or fraud. It is punishable with imprisonment of 3 to 5 years and a fine of Rs 25,000.

Chapters on Hedgewar and Swatantryaveer Savarkar to be removed from syllabus

The proposal to revise the Kannada and Social Science textbooks from 6th to 10th standard has been approved in the Cabinet meeting. According to this, chapters on RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and Swatantryaveer Savarkar will be removed. In its place chapters on Savitribai Phule, Nehru’s letter to Indira Gandhi and poetry on Dr Ambedkar will be included.

Also, it has been made mandatory to teach Constitution’s Preamble in all Government and private schools and colleges of the State.

  • Even if such laws are repealed in the States, there is a need for an anti-conversion law at the Centre level. Hindus feel that the Union Government should protect them by immediately making such a law.
