Udaipur (Rajasthan) – A new case of attempted forceful conversion has come to the fore from the Udaipur District of Rajasthan where a Hindu girl student of Pacific College has registered a complaint against a Muslim man for forcing her to convert her religion to Islam. The accused identified as Mohammed Asif is also said to have issued death threats to the girl. He also asked her to wear burqa and threatened to murder her like Shraddha Walkar case that happened in Delhi. He gave her time till 31st May 2023 to decide. Even earlier, a complaint was lodged against Asif, and he was arrested, but he was released on bail and again started harassing this girl. (It has been time and again proved that despite arrests, a person keeps committing similar crimes since the criminal mentality doesn’t change with such arrests. Severe punishment is, therefore, necessary that will eradicate criminal mentality. – Editor)

There have been instances of killing young women after receiving such threats, therefore, the offenders should be severely penalised by sentences such as life imprisonment, even if the actual crime is not yet committed.
