Arrest of Imran Khan is illegal : Supreme Court of Pakistan

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistan’s Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan was unlawful. A bench of 3 Chief Justices has given the decision. He was arrested in connection with the Al-Qadir Trust case. An arrest warrant against him was issued by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Rawalpindi.

Pakistan’s Information Minister has defended the arrest of Imran Khan on the day the Supreme Court ruled it was unlawful. She said that the Supreme Court is protecting a terrorist. After the arrest of Imran Khan, a lot of violence took place which was a conspiracy. The army was attacked. The High Court has said that the arrest is legal. It is surprising why the Supreme Court declared it illegal in 48 hrs. The country was set on fire due to this man. He attacked the Police and the Paramilitary troops. Why was the Supreme Court silent then ?

In the violence that took place after Imran Khan’s arrest, 8 people died whereas 290 were injured. Except for Sindh province, the military troops are deployed in Punjab, Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The Police have arrested 1,900 leaders and activists of Khan’s party so far.
