A Christian appointed as supervisor of historical Vajreshwari Mandir, at Bhiwandi, Maharashtra

Vajreshwari temple

Thane (Maharashtra) – Francis Joseph Lemos has been appointed as the supervisor and public relations officer of the ancient Shri Vajreshwari Yoginidevi Sansthan (SVYS) in Bhiwandi Taluka. An official letter has been issued to Francis Joseph Lemos by the president of  SVYS in this regard. Francis Joseph Lemos will welcome and look after the donors and very, very important persons (VVIPs) visiting this temple; legal matters, surveying land belonging to SVYS, and help in temple management, etc.  The letter was made viral on social media when devout Hindus started expressing their anger by asking has any church or mosque appointed a Hindu as a supervisor ?

Trustees unavailable when contacted !

The representative of the daily newspaper ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ tried to call up the trustees of SVYS on his cell phone, but he didn’t answer the call.

Importance of Shri Vajreshwari Mandir !

Shri Vajreshwari Mandir is an excellent example of architecture. Vajreshwari is known for its natural hot water springs. Maharashtra Government has given it the status of a religious tourist place. The State Government is going to develop the temple and surrounding area. There is a reference to Shri Vajreshwari Mandir in the medieval culture under ‘Nath Sampradaya’. The old Mandir of Vajreshwari devi was at Jungkati village. The present temple has been built by Chimaji Appa, as per the historical reference.

Editorial viewpoint

It is the outcome of the lack of education on Dharma amongst Hindus ! Hindus need to seriously think why not a single Hindu could be found for the post of supervisor of a temple. Are Hindus appointed on the trusts of religious places of non-Hindus ?
