
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) – A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court found Ahmad Murtaza Abbasi guilty and awarded the death penalty, for the attack on the Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur in April last year. On 3rd April last year, Ahmad Murtaza Abbasi attacked Police personnel with a sharp weapon shouting ‘Allah u Akbar’ outside Gorakhnath Temple, Gorakhpur. He also tried to snatch the arms away from them. The Police later arrested him. He tried to pretend that he was a Psychiatric patient, but he could not prove it.
