Pune – “Shrikrushna and Hanuman were the greatest diplomats of the world. Shrikrushna was an example of strategic patience. “Hanumanji, he had gone ahead of the mission, he not only went to Lanka, he had contacted Goddess Sita, burnt Lanka…he was a multi-purpose diplomat,” Jaishankar said. He was speaking while interacting with the audience in Maharashtra’s Pune city in a question-answer session during the launch of ‘Bharat Marg’, the Marathi translation of his book ‘The India Way – Strategies for an uncertain world’.

While defining diplomacy he explained the importance of Mahabharat and Ramayan. “The best example of strategic patience is the way Shrikrushna handled Shishupal. He forgave him 100 times,” he said. The Mahabharat war was fought between Kauravs and Pandavs. It is said that History and Religious texts gives us a new perspective. When we look at Shrikrushna and Hanuman with a diplomatic perspective, we can see their greatness.
