2. The accused had set up a book stall there. The Police noticed that they kept Islamic books under the books of Hindu Dharma. When the Police asked the names of the two persons present there, they identified themselves as Ashish Kumar Gupta and Naresh Kumar Saroj. When they were taken to the Police station for questioning, the names on their Aadhaar cards were found to be Mohammad Monish and Sameer. After receiving information that both were selling books on the instructions of Islamia Himdadiya Madarasa teacher Ghazi, the Police went to Ghazi’s house and arrested him.
3. The enquiry found that Ghazi was distributing books and pamphlets that praised Islam and belittled Hindu Dharma. These books published misinterpretations of verses from Hindu scriptures. Through this, they were trying to brainwash and convert Hindus.
4. Police said that Mohammad Monish and Sameer belong to an Islamist outfit. Monish is the State secretary of the Uttar Pradesh branch of the ‘Student Islamic Organisation’, while Sameer is an active volunteer of this organisation. Both said that they have been working for the organisation for many years. For that, they get ₹5,000 each per month.
