In the evening at 6.32 p.m. on 30th October, the 765 ft long and just 4-1/2 foot wide, hanging cable-bridge collapsed. It had been built in 1887, that is, 143 years ago by Thakor King using the then advanced European technology. It is being said that due to too much weight of many people gathering on the bridge at a time, might have been the cause of the collapse. Special investigation team is going to investigate.
