Kamal Haasan spews venom yet again
Chennai – Kamal Haasan, a famous South Indian actor and political party leader has said, ‘During the time of Rajaraja Chola, the concept of the Hindu religion was non-existent. During that time, there were only religions called Vaishnavam, Shivam and Samanam. The term ‘Hindu’ was coined by the British for their convenience’. Recently, the Tamil film ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’, based on a Chola king, has been released. He was speaking at an event organised for it. Famous director Mani Ratnam produced this movie. BJP leader H Raja has criticised these statements. He said that Rajaraja Chola was the Hindu king. Although I don’t know as much history as Vetrimaaran, Rajaraja Chola built 2 churches and a mosque.
