Act to control private madarasas soon
Guwahati (Assam) – The State Government has closed as many as 700 State-run madarasas after receiving information that Jihadi activities were going on at madarasas in Assam. The BJP Government in Assam has initiated a law to control private madarasas, eliminate terrorist organisations and protect children from them. According to CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, the terrorist organisation Al-Qaeda is plotting violence in Assam.
There have been several successful operations against jehadi modules by @assampolice.
In the last 5 months, 5 such modules of terrorist organisation Ansarullah Bangla Team have been busted by the police with help from other investigative agencies. pic.twitter.com/gBuKQeS55k

The State Government is consulting legal experts to enforce a law to control madarasas. Terrorist organisations are targeting the youth of minority communities. To mislead the youth, Jihadi literature is being translated into Bengali and being circulated through mobile phones. Many of the arrested Jihadis had worked as Imams (one’s who lead prayers in the mosques). They also organise religious fairs in many places to carry out terrorist activities. Such madarasas are also receiving illegal funds.
Editorial viewpoint
Were the Police sleeping and waiting till so many terrorist groups emerge ? The Government should also take action against people responsible for this. |
Members of over 24 jihadi groups operational in Assam arrested
Investigation agencies have arrested members of more than 24 jihadi groups. Jihadis in Assam madarasas have links with ‘Ansarullah Bangla’ and ‘Al-Qaeda’. Clusters of these organisations extend to Tripura, Bhopal and Bengaluru.
Editorial viewpoints
It is proved repeatedly that many madarasas across India have become Jihadi havens. Therefore, such a law should not be limited to Assam only, the Central Government should enact it at the national level. |
Arif Aajakia, a famous Islamic scholar who hails from Pakistan but now lives in England, said madarasas incite people against the 85% majority in India by saying that they should destroy the Kafirs (Infidels). Patriots feel that the Union Home Ministry should take this issue seriously and have appropriate control over the madarasas.
