Indian Railway lost Rs 700 crores of property in the violent protest against Agnipath

New Delhi – For the past 5 days violent agitations are taking place against Central Government’s ‘Agnipath’ Scheme. There is arson and vandalism during the agitation. There has been great damage to public and personal properties. The Indian Railways have suffered the greatest loss.

Which is supposed to be about Rs 700 crore. 60 bogies and 11 engines of the Railways have been burnt. More than 350 trains had to be canceled because of this agitation. The Stations were vandalised. And the train Vikramsheela Express was looted.

Editorial viewpoint

We cannot imagine what must be the total loss of public property during these displays of violence if just the railways have suffered this much loss. Those responsible for this should be caught and their property confiscated to compensate for this loss, then only will there be fear of the law in the people.
