Ukraine, now pleading with India to intervene, had once voted against India’s nuclear tests at the UNSC

New Delhi – Ukraine appealed to India to intervene in the wake of Russian aggression. However, Ukraine had condemned India for the 1998 nuclear tests and had voted against India, along with 25 other countries, at the UN Security Council. This anti-India stance of Ukraine is trending on social media now.

On 24th February, the very first day of the war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy-led Government appealing to PM Modi stated, India has good relations with Russia. Therefore, India can play a pivotal role in deterring Russian aggression. Hence, PM Narendra Modi should immediately intervene and contact the President of Russia.
