Both were arrested after the girl’s complaint

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) –  A 16-year-old girl, who used to visit the Church to offer prayers was raped by a local Pastor of the Church at Songadh Taluka in the Tapi District, Baliram Kokni. When this Pastor was sexually abusing a minor girl, his wife recorded a video and took inappropriate pictures of the girl.

This incident happened in May 2021, however, the case was registered only on 28^th December 2021. After that, Pastor Baliram Kokni and his wife Anita were arrested.

According to the complaint,

1. The minor girl worked as a labourer at a farm. She went to the Church with her mother to offer prayers. The Pastor called her to meet him alone and raped her.
2. Pastor Kokni and his wife Anita used to threaten the girl not to complain to the Police. She did not lodge a complaint with the Police for months, fearing that her video would be circulated on social media.
