If this inference is correct, then people from all over the world are being robbed by these companies under the pretext of Covid-19 and many countries and their people are being held hostage.

New Delhi – According to a study conducted at various levels, vaccine manufacturing companies are working hard to prevent the eradication of the Covid-19 pandemic, Zee News stated on its DNA programme. ‘These companies strive to perpetuate the fear of coronavirus in the minds of the people. They are pursuing financial interests through it’, the news channel said.

Points discussed by the DNA,

1. The first patient of Covid’s new variant Omicron was found in South Africa on 24th November; however, the world got its knowledge in December. The fears created by this resulted in the massive gains of Covid-19 vaccine makers.

2. After Omicron, in the US alone, investors in the Pfizer vaccine company’s shareholders made a profit of ₹75,000 Crore in one week, because after Omicron, shares of this company went sky high. ‘If these companies are becoming richer because of such new variants of coronavirus, how will they let the virus eradicate ?’, a question was raised.

3. Drug companies in the world, that are currently manufacturing Covid-19 vaccines, were at loss before the pandemic. In 2020, Moderna had incurred a loss of ₹4,000 Crore. After its Covid-19 vaccine hit the market, its income went up to ₹52,500 Crore. Similarly, the revenue of Pfizer was ₹60,000 Crore and it went up to ₹1,42,000 Crore.

4. Serum Institute, which manufactures Covishield vaccine in India, had an income of ₹5,446 Crore. The company now has made a profit of ₹2,251 Crore. This means that the company has made a profit of 41%. Bharat Biotech and other vaccine manufacturers have also benefited from thousands of crores of rupees.

5. The Serum Institute vaccine is available to the Government of India for ₹215. The Pfizer company spends only ₹75 to make a dose, but it sells it for ₹2,200.

6. These companies are said to be working to prevent the Covid-19 vaccine from reaching poor and backward countries. This is because if new variants of Covid-19 start cropping up in these countries, their vaccines will gain more value. For example, the Omicron variant of Covid-19 was found in these countries.

7. It is now being said that nothing can beat the Covid-19 unless 800 Crore people in the world are vaccinated. Attempts are now being made in Western countries to provide booster doses, while no vaccine has reached the African continent. So far, only 8% of the population has been vaccinated there.

8. About 20% of Americans have been vaccinated and given a booster dose. In other words, one out of every 5 citizens has taken a booster dose. The United States currently has enough vaccines to vaccinate its citizens twice. Canada can vaccinate its people thrice, along with booster doses; yet these countries are stockpiling vaccines instead.
