After the abrogation of Article 370, only 7 outsiders purchased properties in the last two years

All the seven properties are in the Jammu region, not a single property purchased in Kashmir

Editorial Comment

  • It is clear that even after the scrapping of Article 370 and the regular killing of jihadi terrorists by the security forces, there is a feeling of insecurity among the people that Kashmir is still unsafe for Indians to live in. Patriots feel that the Government should address this issue.

New Delhi – After the scrapping of Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, people from outside the State have purchased only seven properties in the State. The properties are in the Jammu region only, informed Union Home Minister Nityanand Rai in a written reply to a question raised in the Rajya Sabha. Due to Article 370, people from outside the State of J&K could not buy land here. Kashmir had a separate Constitution due to Article 370. Also, there were separate laws on the right to property and other fundamental rights.
