- Kanwar Yatra begins on 25th July. It has been permitted by the Government of Uttar Pradesh with some conditions. After this permission from the UP Government, Uttarakhand Government is going to reconsider the matter. ‘Many States are involved in Kanwar Yatra. We will discuss with them and then make a decision’, said Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
- The Court said, ‘they learnt through a newspaper that permission was granted to Kanwar Yatra by the UP Government, whereas Uttarakhand has rejected it due to its previous experience. We want to know, what exactly is the role of the other States ? Indian citizens are suffering. They are not even aware of what is going on ? At the same time, the Prime Minister of the nation has said, ‘We cannot be careless about the coronavirus’. We are issuing notice to the Central, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh Governments’.
