Temple management should be restored to devotees!
India’s famous sportspersons, actors or celebrities who are Hindus never speak on religious matters. The underlying reason for this being they feel that by doing so their so called secular image will be tarnished. Kudos to Virender Sehwag for voicing his opposition to the government control of temples!
New Delhi – Supporting Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s temple protection campaign in Tamil Nadu, renowned former cricketer Virender Sehwag tweeted, “So painful to see temples which held such great significance and 1000’s of years of history being reduced to this. It’s high time this is corrected and through a proper process, management of temples everywhere be handed over to devotees. With Sadhguru in this much needed cause.”

Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, of Isha Foundation, had retweeted a video of a dilapidated temple in Chennai and had tagged the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Office and Virender Sehwag. Sehwag responded by lending his support to the campaign. Under the campaign launched by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, a demand has been made to free 44212 temples in Tamil Nadu from Government control and hand them over to the devotees. The campaign was started as it is evident now that the Government is not doing anything for the maintenance and upkeep of temples.
