US university establishes endowed chair in Hindu and Jain Studies

A developed country like the US establishes a chair to study Hindu Dharma. Sadly, when the Indian Government decides to include Bhagawadgeeta in school syllabus, the so-called secularists, rationalists and progressives in our country protest against the decision.

Washington (USA) – California State University has announced the setting up of an endowed chair in Hindu and Jain Studies, which will be an integral part of its religious studies programme. Twenty four Indian-Americans have contributed to this. A professor who holds experthinduise in Hinduism as well as Jainism will be appointed as the interim chair.
