Ottawa (Canada) – Canada’s opposition leader has issued a statement saying that reports that the Diwali celebrations in Canada’s parliament have been cancelled are false. Opposition leader Pierre Poilievre’s office said reports that the Diwali festival had been cancelled were false. The festival will be organised by the ‘Conservative Caucus’; however, there has been a slight change in the schedule of the festival. Diwali will be celebrated with people of South Asian origin.’ Conservative MP Todd Doherty has organised the Diwali festival.

It was claimed that the celebration of Diwali was cancelled in the backdrop of the ongoing diplomatic standoff with India. Diwali celebrations have been organised on Parliament Hill for 23 years.
