Seven temples of Shri Ashtavinayak in Maharashtra will be restored

Mumbai – Among the ancient and world famous Shri Ashtavinayak temples in Maharashtra are Shri Mayureshwar Temple (Morgaon, Pune), Chintamani Temple (Theur, Pune), Shri Vigneshwara Temple (Ozar, Pune), Shri Mahaganapati Temple (Ranjangaon Temple, Pune), Shri Varadvinayak Temple (Mahad , Raigad), Shri Ballaleshwar Temple (Pali, Raigad) and Shri Siddhivinayak Temple (Siddhatek, District Ahilyanagar) have been decided by the Government of Maharashtra to restore seven temples. A fund of Rs 92.19 crore has been approved for this purpose.

Out of this Rs 7.3 crore for Shri Mayureshwar temple, Rs 6.62 crore for Shri Chintamani temple, Rs 6.89 crore for Shri Vigneshwar temple, Rs 6.35 crore for Shri Mahaganpati temple, Rs 13.95 crore for Shri Varadvinayak temple, Rs 14.9 crore for Shri Ballaleshwar temple, while Rs 6.66 crore will be given to Sri Siddhivinayak temple. Out of this, electrification and other works will be done along with preservation, conservation and area management of temples. These works are going to be done under the guidance of the Survey of Archaeology so that the original style of the temple should be maintained during the restoration. The district committee constituted under the chairmanship of the respective district guardians had sent the proposal for the restoration works of these temples to the high-level committee working under the chairmanship of the chief secretary of the state. The government has approved it.
