UP Police won’t deploy personnel who consume meat or drink alcohol on Mahakumbh duty

Congratulatory decision of Uttar Pradesh Police

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) – The UP Police have decided that Policemen who drink alcohol or eat meat will not be appointed on Prayagraj Mahakumbh duty. Additional Director General of Police Sanjay Singhar has asked all the Commissioners of Police in the State to pay special attention while sending Police convoy to Prayagraj during Mahakumbh. Along with this, the office has also directed that the Policemen should have good conduct, integrity and a good social image. (Why such conditions are required ? Why don’t the Policemen behave well by themselves ? – Editor) The office of Director General of Police has appointed 15 senior Police officers to maintain law and order in the Mahakumbh area.

Guidelines issued by Additional Director General of Police

1. The age of a Police constable should generally be 40 years. The age of the head constable should not be more than 50 years and the age of sub-inspectors and inspectors should not be more than 55 years

2. No such Police officer who is a native of Prayagraj shall be sent for duty in Mahakumbh. Also, he should be physically and mentally healthy, alert and well behaved. (Why aren’t those who do not fall in this category removed from the force ? – Editor).
