Will be deported to Bangladesh after serving sentence !

Surat (Gujarat) – Mallika Sakeen Sardar (age 63), a Bangladeshi woman attempting to obtain Indian citizenship using a fake Aadhaar Card, has been found guilty and sentenced to 14 months in prison. She will be deported to Bangladesh after completing her sentence. Government prosecutors have indicated plans to appeal to the High Court to extend her sentence.

Mallika is originally from the Salabatpur area of Mandarwaja Tenement in Gopalganj district of Bangladesh. She was found with a Bangladeshi passport, an Indian Aadhaar Card, and a COVID-19 vaccination certificate. She had been living in Surat since 2020.
