Statement by Pakistan as Modi Government returns for the 3rd consecutive term in India
Islamabad (Pakistan) – “Despite various statements and challenges from India, we are acting responsibly. We are ready to resolve all issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, through dialogue with India. We believe in moving forward together peacefully. We seek good relations with India and hope that India will also make efforts to maintain peace between the two countries. Solutions to problems can be found through dialogue”, stated Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch in the context of return of Modi Government in India.
1. Earlier, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif had expressed hope for improved relations with India following the Lok Sabha elections. He had said that India-Pakistan relations have a unique history of their own. In such a situation, it is expected that the circumstances will change after the elections.
2. In March, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar mentioned that Pakistan’s trader community wishes to resume trade with India. The Government will take a decision after reviewing all proposals and consulting the relevant stakeholders.
3. On the other hand, a few days before the Lok Sabha election results, Pakistan’s former minister Fawad Chaudhry had said, “Narendra Modi must lose this election. This is what everyone in Pakistan wants. India-Pakistan relations will improve only when the terrorists in both the countries decrease.” (Terrorists are present only in Pakistan, not in India – Editor).
Editorial Perspective
It is Pakistan sponsored Jihadi activities in India that have ruined relations between the two neighbours. If at all Pakistan intends to revive them, it should stop terrorist activities and hand over all terrorists to India. Also, it should ensure the safety of Pakistani Hindus. |
