5 to 6 Police personnel injured
Mumbai – Slum dwellers pelted stones at Mumbai Municipal Corporation officials and Police personnel who went to take action against unauthorised slums in Hiranandani area of Powai. The incident took place on 6th June. The Police resorted to mild cane charge at the time. Action has been stopped after stone pelting. 5 to 6 Policemen were injured in stone pelting. After this incident, a large Police guard has been deployed in Powai area and there is still an atmosphere of tension.
