Sexual abuse of children by Pakistani Army officers

600 videos of 100 children broadcast

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistani Army officers stationed in the tribal areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been accused of sexually abusing several children. More than 600 videos of 100 children have been circulated in this case. The age of these children is said to be less than 14 years. Commander Lieutenant General Hasan Azhar Hayat has ordered a ‘Court of Inquiry’ in this matter. The Police have arrested a shopkeeper of this area, Tahir Kabadi, in case of sexual abuse.

1. According to the Police, Tahir Kabaddi was close to the Army. He used to supply poor children to Army officers. He lured children to the authorities, and also made videos of child sexual abuse. He also used to extort money from the children’s parents.

2. Locals of Khurram alleged that some Army officers had been accused of sexually abusing children in the past; but the senior officers of the Pakistani Army pressured the Police and released the accused.
