Dharwad (Karnataka) – Saddam Hussain of Hubballi Navanagar area here has been arrested for raping a minor Hindu Dalit victim. Action is being taken against him under the POCSO Act. He attempted to escape by attacking 2 Policemen with a knife on 3rd May. Hussain’s leg was shot in the action taken by the Police this time. Dharwad Vidyagiri Police Inspector Sangamesh Bidiginal was injured in this.
Hussain, 19, first befriended the victim and then lured her into a romantic relationship. He then raped her and threatened her. The victim has become pregnant due to rape. After she was admitted to the hospital, the whole truth came out and a case was registered against Hussain and he was arrested.
