Katni (Madhya Pradesh) – Swami Avimukteshwaranand, Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth had criticised Dhirendra Krishna Shastri. Challenging Bageshwar Dham’s Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, he asked, ‘If there is any divine power, then repair the cracks of Joshimath’. Swami Avimukteshwaranand has said that if the Bageshwar Sarkar stopped the sinking land in Joshimath, then I would recognise his miraculous powers.

However, Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Saraswati of Dwarka Sharda Peeth has supported Bageshwar Dham Sarkar saying Hindus who question the Bageshwar Sarkar are anti-Sanatan Dharma. The people who are doing this are atheist Hindus. He further stated ‘Those who are raising questions on Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, have they ever visited Bageshwar Dham ? Has Shastri taken Dakshina, money to help people ? First, the difference between faith and superstition has to be understood. What is wrong if people are getting cured by taking shelter of some Deity ? This is our tradition. This is your faith and belief. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri has proved it in front of a crowd of thousands of people, so why superstition ? Thousands of people are getting benefitted from Bageshwar Dham. People visiting him are leaving satisfied. It is very easy to make an allegation, but it is difficult to prove it.
