Indian Railways suffered a loss of ₹260 crore in damages caused by violence over the Agnipath Scheme : Railway Minister

2 thousand 642 agitators arrested !

New Delhi – Since the Government has introduced the ‘Agnipath Scheme’, the opposition has created such an atmosphere in the country, as a result of which extremely violent activities are seen throughout the country. Bihar State has faced the highest opposition to this scheme. A lot of trains were burnt. This violence has caused the Government a loss of Rs 260 crore, informed the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.

In the course of the protest against the ‘Agnipath Scheme’, a total of 2 thousand 132 railways needed to be cancelled. In the violence which arose that time, 2 individuals were killed and 35 were injured. That time, 2 thousand 642 agitators were arrested, added Ashwini Vaishnav.

Those destroying the Government property by doing violent agitations should be imprisoned for the rest of their life and should be made liable to pay for the damages caused. General public should not have to bear this burden !
