Kabul (Afghanistan) – According to Sikh community leaders, there are only 20 Sikh families left in Afghanistan under the Taliban regime. The leaders also told that the Sikhs now live only in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, and Jalalabad, with a total population of 140 to 150. A Gurdwara was recently targeted by militants in Afghanistan. It was against this context that the Sikh leaders gave this information. Minorities in Afghanistan have been under constant attack since the Taliban assumed power last year. Apart from this, various Gurudwaras have been attacked for 3 consecutive years, viz. 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Why doesn’t the US, which brands India as a villain by publishing a report on alleged injustice done to Muslims in India, now utter a word while Sikhs are becoming extinct in Afghanistan ? India should question US on this ! |
