US President has visited a war-torn country’s neighbourhood for the first time since World War II
Warsaw (Poland) – US President Joe Biden has arrived in the Polish city of Rzeszów, just 80 km from Ukraine, to openly challenge Russian President Vladimir Putin. Biden met with NATO troops stationed there. This time, Biden called Putin a ‘War Criminal’. He said that keeping the allies united for a long time was the only way to minimise the devastation. Putin’s aggression has wreaked havoc in Europe. Russia should reconsider its ambition to win Ukraine.
This is the first time since World War II that a US president has visited a place so close to a war-torn country. Biden met with Polish President Andrzej Duda, as well as Ukrainian refugees, told US National Advisor Jake Sullivan.
Biden regrets not being able to go to Ukraine“I am sorry I didn’t go to Ukraine for security reasons,” Biden said. |
