Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passes away at 92

New Delhi – Former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh passed away at around 10 pm on December 26. He was 92 years old. He was suffering from various physical ailments due to old age. He fell unconscious on the evening of December 26 and was rushed to AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. He breathed his last at 9.51 pm, according to a press release issued by the hospital.

Manmohan Singh was born in the year 1932 in the then Punjab province. He served as the Chief Economic Advisor in the Union Finance Ministry in the year 1972. He was the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 1982 to 1985. In October 1992, he was elected as an MP to the Rajya Sabha. He remained an MP for the last 33 years, i.e. until April 2024. Singh was the Prime Minister of India for 10 years from 2004 to 2014. He is seen as the father of India’s economic liberalization.
