New Delhi – After the demise of India’s first CDS Bipin Rawat in a helicopter crash, the appointment process for the next CDS has begun. The old process is implemented until then. Accordingly, Chief of Army Staff Mukund Naravane has been appointed as ‘the Chairman of the Chief of Staff Committee’. Gen. Naravane is the senior-most among all hence, he is appointed as the Chairman. Furthermore, his name is leading for the permanent appointment of the next CDS. ‘The Chief of Staff Committee’ used to coordinate among all the three defence forces when the CDS post was not created. It also includes the Chief of Staff for all three Armed Forces.
