Kabul (Afghanistan) – Women can stay safe at home. They should not venture out; as the Taliban were not trained to respect women. The advice to women to stay at home is temporary and don’t think it to be an order. The Taliban will be trained not to abuse women, said Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid while addressing a press conference. (Observing the previous atrocities against women question arises, do the Taliban have a culture of respecting women ? If not, how will they teach the other Taliban ? – Editor) Taliban had earlier said it will have a liberal attitude towards women and allow them to study and work; but within a few days, has its role changed ?

The Taliban ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001. During that period, the Taliban had made women’s lives a living hell. Women were whipped on the streets and stoned to death as punishment.
