Post Galwan Valley skirmishes, India deploys 50,000 soldiers on LAC : Bloomerg News

An array of troops drastically modified as compared to the earlier strategy

New Delhi – After Galwan Valley skirmishes that took place between India and China last year, India has deployed 50,000 soldiers in the region with a new array. Bloomberg report has claimed that it is a historic move.

The Boomberg report states :

  1. India has deployed various troops and fighting planes on India-China border in the last 4 months.
  2. At present, India has 2 lakh troops deployed on the India-China border, a rise of 40% from last year. This represents India’s modified array.
  3. Unlike previous military deployment that was aimed at blocking Chinese moves, the redeployment of Indian Army is aimed at providing more options to attack and seize territory in China, if necessary. As informed by a source, India will be more confident in using this new strategy against China.
  4. The redeployment of troops along the China border includes more helicopters to transport the soldiers and light Howitzers from one valley to another in Kashmir.
  5. On the other hand, China is building runways for fighter jets and bomb-proof bunkers on the border.
