Indian Government should take the report seriously and examine how safe are the Nestle products being sold in India

New Delhi – An internal report of the Nestle company has acknowledged that 60% of its foods and beverages fall into the category of unhealthy. The report also states, ’some of the food products can never be healthy no matter how much they improve them’. The Nestle company is working on making those 60% unhealthier products more safe.
An internal presentation circulated among top executives early this year stating that more than 60% of #Nestle‘s mainstream food and drinks portfolio could not be considered healthy under a “recognised definition of health”, Financial Times reported.https://t.co/9OOeQ4kKWk

A report circulated among the top executives in the year 2021 stated that only 37 % of the Nestle’s products achieve a rating 3.5 under Australia’s Health Star Rating system. This clearly implies that rest of the products do not meet this quality.
The ‘Star Rating System’ in Australia provides 0 to 5 star rating to the products. This is used to mark the quality of the products at an international level. Nearly 82% of the products related to water and 60% of the dairy products of the Nestle Company fail to achieve this rating.
Maggi was banned in India

An objection was raised in the year 2015 against the quality of ‘Maggi’ (a food product by Nestle) in India. A report of Food Safety Regulators from Barabanki (Uttar Pradesh) had claimed that Maggi consists of more Monosodium Glutamate and lead level. As a result, Indian Government had banned Maggi. Later Bombay High Court had lifted the ban noting that the quality check on Maggi was not properly carried out.
