ISRO successfully develops Indian ‘Oxygen concentrators’ !

A space agency developing Oxygen concentrators in the adverse times of coronavirus pandemic is truly commendable !

New Delhi – The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has gained success in developing Indian oxygen concentrators. The device would be capable of supplying over 95% of oxygen to patients on oxygen support. The device has been named as ‘Shwaas’.

Shwaas is capable of supplying enriched oxygen continuously at 10 litres per minute (LPM) adequate for two patients at a time. The device needs 600 W power and operates at a voltage of 220 V AC, 50 Hz. The device weighs around 44 kg. ISRO has now announced its decision to transfer the technology across the country. Now it will be possible to produce oxygen concentrators on mass scale in the country.
