Nellore (Andhra Pradesh) – An ancient Shiva Temple discovered on the 16th June, near Perumallapadu village, on the banks of Penna river. A structure of the temple was noticed while excavating sand from the river. The temple was visible after digging deep. Later, it was found to be an ancient Shiva Mandir.

Residents claimed ‘This temple is very old. Deity Parashuram built 101 temples. This is one of them.’ The Director, Archaeology Department said, “This temple, maybe got immersed in the floods of 1850 or submerged under the dunes. Penna river alters its course from time to time.”
