Dhaka (Bangladesh) – The attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh show no sign of stopping. Hindus there have reported the latest incidents of violence to daily ‘Sanatan Prabhat.’ In one incident, Jihadi Mohammad Riazul Islam targeted temples in the Aditmari Sub-District of Lalmonirhat District at 5 p.m. on 31stAugust. During this attack, he desecrated and broke the idols of Goddess Durga. Following a complaint from Pujya (Adv) Rabindra Ghosh, president of ‘Bangladesh Minority Watch,’ an organisation advocating for minority rights in Bangladesh, the local authorities arrested Islam.

In Sribordi village of Sherpur District, new idols of Goddess Durga were being prepared for the upcoming Durga Puja festival. However, some Jihadis targeted and desecrated these idols. After Pujya (Adv) Ghosh filed a complaint with local Police superintendent Akramul Hossain, he assured that action would be taken against the perpetrators.

Mobile phones of devout Hindus in Bangladesh are being checked

When a ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ correspondent tried to contact a devout Hindu, the call could not go through. After a few hours, the activist sent an audio message via WhatsApp, stating, “You know how pitiful the condition of Hindus is in Bangladesh. Our mobile phones are being checked. That is why we leave them at home when we go out for work. We can only contact you after 11 p.m. Our situation is extremely dire.”

Editorial Perspectives

  • If anything, even by mistake, happens against Muslims in India, the anti-Hindu eco- system across the country makes a huge outcry. Foreign media controlled by them exaggerates the incidents to paint Hindus as violent. On the other hand, for the past month, while thousands of Hindus are being persecuted in Bangladesh, except for a handful of Hindu organisations, no other Hindus are speaking up. Why should the God protect such Hindus in the times of crisis ?
  • O Indian Hindus, think ! You build a house with the money earned by sweating out for years. If fanatic Muslims burn it down overnight, what will be your situation ? Wake up now and raise your voice to protect the Hindus in Bangladesh, otherwise, be warned that you will be their next target.
