Expel Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators from Assam within 7 days, or we will do it ourselves, Assamese organisations warn

Minor Hindu girl gangrape case

Dhing (Assam) – On 22nd August, three Muslims gang-raped a minor Hindu girl studying in the 8th grade. Following this incident, protests have erupted across the State. People participating in these protests have taken a stand against Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators. Several organisations involved in the protests have issued an ultimatum for the infiltrators to leave the northern part of Assam within 7 days. Meanwhile, local Congress MLA Abdur Rashid Mandal has opposed this warning.

More than 30 organisations from East and North Assam are demanding justice for the rape victim. The organisation ‘Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad’ has stated that the entire incident was orchestrated by infiltrator Muslims. These Muslims have become a nuisance for Assam, being involved in crimes like rape, robbery, and drug trafficking. This has led to significant public anger. We have given the Government a 7-day deadline to take action to expel these Muslims from Assam. If no action is taken within the given timeframe, our organisation will use force to expel them.

Why do organisations have to issue such warnings ? What are the Police and Administration doing ?

‘Muslim infiltrators cannot be expelled’ : Congress MLA Abdur Rashid

Congress MLA from Assam, Abdur Rashid Mandal, responded to the demand for the expulsion of Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators by saying that the protestors will not be able to expel the infiltrators. Everyone cannot be blamed for the mistakes of a few. Muslims are contributing to ongoing work in various parts of Assam.

Editorial Perspective

Bangladeshi infiltrators are a vote bank of Congress party. So, it is not a surprise if Congress leaders, especially Muslim leaders like Rashid, make such statements.
