Former US President Donald Trump convicted in 34 felony charges

New York, US – A New York jury found Donald Trump guilty in 34 counts of falsifying business records in a scheme to illegally influence the 2016 election through hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

Trump sat stone-faced while the verdict was read as cheering from the street below could be heard in the hallway on the courthouse’s 15th floor where the decision was revealed after more than nine hours of deliberations. Trump maintained throughout the trial that he had done nothing wrong and that the case should never have been brought, railing against the proceedings from inside the courthouse The trial involved charges that Trump falsified business records to cover up a hush money payment to Stormy Daniels,

The sentence is yet to be pronounced. The falsifying business records charges carry up to four years behind bars. The conviction, and even imprisonment, will not bar Trump from continuing his White House pursuit.

About the case

Porn Star Stormy Daniels had accused Donald Trump of being in a relationship with her. This case was suppressed during the 2016 Presidential Elections by paying 1,30,000 dollars to Stormy by Trump. Trump had allegedly misappropriated the money and used his associate Michael Cohen to silence Daniels. Trump has been convicted of all the 34 charges.
