Demand for Kamiya Jani’s arrest alleging she eats and promotes consumption of beef

Kamiya Jani, who runs a YouTube channel, visits Jagannath Temple in Puri

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) – Kamiya Jani, an active YouTuber, visited the Jagannath Temple in Puri. A video in this context has been posted by Jani on her YouTube channel ‘Curly Tales’. In this video, she and Biju Janata Dal leader VK Pandian are seen partaking in the Mahaprasad at the temple. However, the BJP has raised objections to Kamiya Jani’s temple visit, citing her promotion of beef consumption. BJP contends, “Kamiya is a promoter of beef consumption. Her visit to the temple has hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus. She should be arrested.’ Kamiya had earlier posted a video where she is seen promoting “beef dishes”.

Jatin Mohanty, the BJP general secretary in Odisha, expressed concern, stating, “Beef-eaters and promoters are strictly not allowed inside Jagannath Temple. Still, Kamiya Jani and Pandiyan were granted entry and even took the Mahaprasad. Carrying a video camera inside the temple is strictly prohibited, yet Kamiya did the filming of her video. She should be arrested for hurting the sentiments of crores of Hindus. If she is not arrested, we will approach the Court”.

BJP is peddling fake news – Biju Janata Dal

Biju Janata Dal MP Manas Mangaraj has stated through social media that Kamiya has visited Chardham and the Ayodhya Ram Temple to take darshan of Ram Lalla.

MP Mangaraj while questioning Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan wrote, “You tell me what is the problem ? Why are you spreading fake news ? Why do you insult Odisha and its people ?”

Editorial Perspective

The Odisha Government should conduct a thorough investigation into these allegations to uncover the truth. If the claims are substantiated, appropriate action should be taken.
