People take to street for revival of interrupted power supply

Islamabad – People from Pak occupied Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan have taken to street agitating for reducing the prices of commodities such as wheat flour, cereals and reviving the interrupted power supply. Pakistan is facing severe financial crisis. Earlier, the people were under stress due to floods and hence, they are agitating against the Government repeatedly.

Citizens are criticising the Government stating that the leaders were failing to solve the people’s problems. The President Sultan Mahamud Chowdhari of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) is on a tour of Britain, Turkiye and Belgium without giving any intimation to the people about it and that also has triggered the fury of people.

The Government of Gilgit-Baltistan has grabbed lands belonging to people. Hence peoples’ sentiments are hurt and they are opposing the Government.  In 2022, youth there had agitated against the army; hence, the army captured those youth to suppress their revolt. Despite economic crisis in Gilgit-Baltistan the Government has not provided any funds so far.

Gilgit-Baltistan has to depend upon the funds provided by the Centre; that also has not been given to them for some period in the past adding to their suffering.
