New Delhi – National song, ‘Jana Gana Mana’ and National Anthem ‘Vande Mataram’ have the same status; hence every citizen should show equal respect to both, stated the Centre in Delhi High Court. Central administration placed its role while giving answer to the petition by BJP leader and Adv Mr Ashwini Upadhyay.

Adv Mr Ashwini Upadhyay has stated in his petition that direction should be given with regard to the National Anthen ‘Vande Mataram’ as that given to the National song. A demand also being made that ‘Vande Mataram’ should be made mandatory to be sung every day in educational institutions and order to that effect should be given to the Centre and State Government.
